 Frequently Asked Questions

What is Local Mash?

Local Mash is an annual celebration hosted by West Sixth, where chefs from the local community and beyond come together to create perfectly paired small plates to complement selected West Sixth brews. It's a unique event showcasing the magic and range of beer and food pairings.

When and where is Local Mash taking place?

Local Mash 2026 will be held on Thursday, March 26th, from 6:00 - 8:30 pm, throughout the entire West Sixth Taproom and Brewery

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are available for purchase online at Eventbrite, or westsixth.com/localmash.

Will the taproom be open to the public during the event, or do you have to have a ticket?

The West Sixth Lexington taproom will CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC at 4pm on the day of Local Mash, so that the chefs can prepare and we can get set up for the event! We’ll re-open only to ticket holders at 6:00pm!

What is included with my $70 ticket?

Your ticket includes one small plate from each chef, a corresponding 6oz pairing of beer for each plate, and a specialty tasting glass to take home.

I have an allergy/intolerance/dietary restriction. Can you accommodate?

Due to the nature of the event, our menus are set ahead of time and now substitutions or changes can be made to the dishes. If anything is vegan friendly, gluten free, etc. we will mark it ahead of time on our menu release, and on the Local Mash passport; however, we do not guarantee there will be a dish you can eat if you have dietary restrictions or allergies.

Is seating assigned?

No, Local Mash is a passport-style event, meaning there are no reserved seats or traditional table setups. You'll receive a Menu passport upon check-in and can visit chefs at stations around the brewery at your own pace.

Will there be options for non-beer drinkers?

Yes, the taproom bar will be open during the event, offering full pours of beers, non-beer drinks, and more for purchase. We do highly recommend at least trying a sip of the beer with the food, so you can get the pairing experience!

How does the passport work?

All chefs, with their dish & beer pairing, will be listed on the passport. As you go through the stations, our chefs/bartenders will mark off your passport! It's as simple as that -- just keep that glass & passport on you the whole time!

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Yes, our taproom and brewery are both ADA compliant, and can accommodate all guests. That said, we highly recommend getting here early if you require seating.

Is this event 21+ only?

Yes, Local Mash is exclusively for attendees aged 21 and over. Please make sure to bring a valid ID for entry.

Can I bring my kid?

This event is 21+. We’re sorry, but that means no kids. Yes, even baby Johnny who’s still in a stroller. Bring ‘em in for Kids Day the following Sunday, though! There will be magic shows and balloon twisting and free popcorn!

Are dogs allowed at the event?
No, we kindly ask that you leave your furry friends at home as dogs are not permitted at the venue during Local Mash.

How much walking will be involved to enjoy all the pairings?

Our building isn't miles long or anything, but Local Mash is a passport-style event spanning both the entire brewhouse & taproom. A fair amount of walking will be necessary to explore all the chef stations and enjoy the pairings. Get ready to move around, mingle, and indulge in great food and beer!

Where should I park?

We have a parking lot on Bellaire, directly behind the brewery. Additional street parking is available on Bellaire and West 6th streets.

I've seen the end time as both "8:30pm" & "9pm" -- which is it?

Both. Kind of. Check-in will close at 8:30pm, and Local Mash will officially end at 9pm.

Do I have to be there for the WHOLE event?

No!! It's a come-and-go event -- come anytime between 6:00-8:30, try all the pairings, mingle, have fun, and then go home when you like (before 9 pm, please)!
