What's Advent without chocolate? I'll tell ya what it is, it's a scam. Whether the chocolate is that crappy chalky gunk that was in the Advent Calendars of my childhood, or it's top-tier, locally-made, artisinal cocoa truffles, I want my Advent to contain chocolate. Are we clear? Ok, sorry, I get intense about chocolate. Day 8 of our West Sixth Advent calendar, contains, you guessed it, chocolate! We packed it up with a rich, chocolatey can of Cocoa Porter and some small-batch bourbon balls made by our friend, Rick. He did a heck of a job too, as both a chocolate and bourbon ball fan, I rate 'em 10/10. Chill up that porter, crack it open, and treat yourself to a little porter/bourbon ball moment this evening. See ya tomorrow for day 9...I'm off to find some chocolate.
