Enter our Sidewalk Chalk Competition!! We’ve got a $300 West Sixth Gift Card grand prize on the line for a people-powered vote of the best chalk art within a 4 foot by 6 foot sidewalk canvas!

Artists must be 21+

Space & Material Details

Each space is 4’x6’, outlined with chalk spray line, down the Bellaire side sidewalk. 4’x6’ spaces are in portrait orientation, with the top of each space up against the building or garage door. There will be a gap between each artist space.
West Sixth will provide a table for artists to pick materials up from including Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk 48-ct packs along with various off-brand sidewalk chalk colors and sizes to use as it fits your piece! We’ll have towels, spray bottles and more
As mentioned, each artist will recieve a black and a white pastel for any detail or outlining if needed
Spaces are first come, first serve on day of event - sidewalk has character and crags and no two spaces are the same. Use to your advantage!
All participating registered artists will receive an Artist Hospitality Bag, containing:
- West Sixth beer ticket
- Cold Water throughout the day
- A small goodie bag of W6 swag & snacks
- Pool noodle nub (for smudging)
- Knee pads (gardener-style)
- Icy towel access for beating the heat
- Umbrella access

Guidelines & Rules

Solo art only — no assistance beyond moral support
No crude or hate speech
Art must be family-friendly and appropriate for public display
We encourage art that speaks without words; if using a phrase, it must be approved beforehand
All final pieces will be photographed and displayed in the taproom with our winner and runner-up identified!
Must use sidewalk-style chalk provided (see material details!) – Pastel art is not permitted, however each artist will receive black and white pastels for outlining and detail purposes!

Schedule & Voting

All people who enter the West Sixth taproom will receive one voting card no purchase necessary! In addition, voting cards will be included with all beer purchases from 11am-2:30pm!
