Earlier today, we sent the following email to our trailblazers. If you’d like to become one, you can — the signup for is over here ——>
Dear friend –
Thanks again for being a West Sixth Trailblazer.
We’re going to be celebrating Oktoberfest!
We’re introducing our newest brew — it’s our first lager — and an Oktoberfest style beer we’re calling “DankeChain”.
As with all of our Sixths for a Cause, we’re going to be donating 6% of our sales that night to a local non-profit, who is, in this case, our neighbor in the Bread Box: FoodChain. FoodChain is a young nonprofit working to reimagine the local food economy by offering education and demonstration of cutting-edge sustainable methods for food production. So, fish and beer — a great start – But that isn’t it.
We’ll also have special event (only offered once) pint glasses, tours of Foodchain, and, drum roll… …a dunking booth (Dunkel Booth!) filled with local celebrities until 8pm.
Also, we’ll have a select number of specialty hand-made ceramic pint glasses made by our friend Link at Kentucky Mudworks.
Finally, Fork in the Road will be here making some of the best Oktoberfest-inspired food in town! We’ll also have a local food cart serving up Marksbury Farms Brats all day.
Beginning at 4pm, FoodChain staff and volunteers will be on hand to offer more information about what FoodChain’s vision is for our community and how you can get involved. You’ll also have the opportunity to be one of the first to tour their space, from 4pm – 5:30pm, seeing their prototype aquaponics system growing both bass and greens, and see their ambitious plans for growth. If you’d like to know more about FoodChain, click here.
You won’t want to miss this chance to come down, enjoy great beer, and raise money for a great cause by dunking your favorite local personalities!
See you starting at 4pm and finishing around midnight on Saturday!
Ben, Brady, Joe, and Robin
